The third lug remains a mystery as far as I am aware.

I suspect it may have been an indexing feature during manufacturing, as functionality when being used would have been discussed and agreed upon if that were the case.

Mayhem sent me this as a .PDF because there was a problem uploading the .ZIP file to the site.
I'm in no way the author. That's his prerogative, I'm just facilitating the files getting on here.

Its truly impressive there are variations I'd never even heard of! All beautifully illustrated, give it a gander!

Thanks Shamu.

Interesting that it came through as a zip file, as I sent it as a pdf, so unsure what happened there.

I can take no credit for this document, which was written by Peter Mackinven.  Peter only collects charger clips and I would say that he is the world authority on .303 British chargers.  He is extremely thorough with his research and I am sure he would be happy for people to add this document to their reference material.

The MKIII chargers are the worst along with the Italian GM marked clips.

The best I have used are the MKII or MKII* chargers.

I collect them also and have a Portugal made one and two rare MKI chargers.
