I just purchased 2 enfield sporter at an auction. the first is a Sante Fe sporter and it didnt have a clip- I was wondering where to purchase one?( I believe these were 5 rounders) The second was of unknown origin and the stripper clip guide and peep sight has been milled off. I think maybe for a scope mount base but I dont see any tap holes. Any idea on why this would be milled off or where to get a clip?

Kidrup - welcome to the sight. You'll find its kinda like the "twilight Zone" here.(Just ask Tony) One word of advice..watch out fer a guy named Dave H (Thats not his real name, he's really Tiny Tim!!)
Anyway - don't readily assume that your Enfield had a 5 round MAGAZINE (Can always tell when were talkin to Americans, itsMAGAZINE not CLIP, & its CHARGER not Stripper clip)5 round mags were usually an aftermarket thing, & I've found that they are more expensive than the standard mags...plus, you'll find they don't seem to balance right.
Depending on where you are Stateside, our resident American authority is Cookie Monster. He has the poop on all sources stateside.
No doubt he'll be on momentarily to help.
In the meantime, 5 round mags are harder to find, & don't offer as much. You should really consider a standard mag.We will need to know what model Enfield you have, in order to steer you in the right direction.

G'day Kidrupt .Don't bother about Hoadie (his a product of the" Acid Generation " ! My real name is not Tiny Tim & I don't Play 'Tip toe through the Tulips" ......Anymore) Now on the subject of 5 shot Mags. These are a after market item these days . The Origanal Calvary Lee metfords & some of the early Enfields ,had 5 shot mags ,but they haven,t been used since Moses played 'half back" For  Palistine ! Just get yourself a 10 shot . There are two models though  One type for the Mk111 & a differant type for Mk1V's .

The second Enfield . Has it a Mag cut off Plate ? this is on the right hand sideof the action & slides over the top of the mag to close it off . As you could have a Mk1 . What is the date of manufacure ?

Specifics, politics and BS-ing aside  I personaly reccomend E-gunparts.com.uefore you order you'll need to know what model you have.  The model should be stamped on either the left side of the reciever or just above the trigger.
I've seen the future and I don't like it.
