I have a GR BSA. Co 1917 Sht L.E. III (star ) with the letters T.R. on the bottom. What does the T.R. mean. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

I think as Bear says, we need to see photos of this rifle. Of the stamps and aslo of the receiver.
On later rifles T.R. would be Telescope Rifle. Not sure if this would be the same for WWI rifles. I'll have to try and look that up.
