From Goosic.
I thought it cleaned up nicely.

We believe the sheath is original but the blade is a replica.

Nasty bit of kit... I have a Biker made V42 replica. On a hanging deer carcass, it's scary how easy it slides between the ribs when the blade is held parallel. It definitely can get stuck in bone!

It's not the ribs.  It's the neck.  No screams.

HT. I have the Böker V42 as well. The first use straight from the box was to walk to the bathroom, lather on some shave cream and use it as a straight razor. Shaved closer than my Gillette Fusion...

I saw an interview of an old WW2 Commando explaining the use of the FS knife.
He said the prefered method for taking out a sentry was; from behind, stab into the middle (side) of the neck and punch forwards, straight through the windpipe and out the front. He said it was effective, but messy!
Those guys were hard as nails!
It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice!

A true weapon of death, made for one purpose only, to kill your fellow man, I`m sure it could be used for other things, but its true purpose was to extinguish life.
I own a second(maybe third) generation FS, original sheath, the elastic is missing, it also has some blokes initials scratched into the sheath. Wilkinson Made, around mid 1940`s
Very interesting design for sure.

shoot em if you got em

I believe I saw that show. They handed this old gentleman in a beret a knife. He said he hadnt held on since the war. The minute it was in his hand he was moving it like it was inbedded in his DNA! Impressive!

Yes I saw that as well.
I only got it because over time my "old Things" have vanished to an extent & I'm slowly replacing the more treasured ones.
I had an original back in the day. I bought it because we weren't issued boots, but had a uniform allowance to purchase suitable ones.
My Canadian Paratroopers boots had the sheath built in so naturally I had to get whatever fitted in it!

picked these up a while back, pawn shop finds. Says William Rogers Sheffield England on the guard. Is it the real thing? The other is a USMC bayonet.
