I'm looking at a picture of a Lee Enfield for sale just down the road. Its a Sporter and he wants $350 CAD. He states it's a No4 Mk1 1944 Longbranch. He says shiny bore, furniture in great shape, awesome shooter. The weird thing it looks like a short'ish barrel but has front ramp site but with Enfield ears. It also retains the top hand guard and looks nicely worked just past the barrel/sling band. He's sending more pic's. It is on Gunpost.ca. Manitoba.

Looks like the top one but with LE ears that don't go all around the barrel. Never seen one of those before.

Could it be a rare EAL version?
It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice!

I believe not. He sent me a picture of the receiver. The only markings on it are:
No4Mk1*
Longbranch
1944

In that order. No serial number in that location.
