G'day gents,

Just wanted to share a new purchase - something I managed to snag as a bit of history from the Lithgow Small Arms Factory - an original A frame mobile rifle rack for Lee Enfield No1 MKIII SMLE's used at the Lithgow Factory and Army base ordnance depots. The rack holds 20 rifles all up and weighs in at 70kg, it will also hold any other type of rifles or shotguns you have.

I needed a gun rack and decided this little bit of Lithgow rifle history would complement my collection very nicely indeed. Smile

Tikirocker, I'm envious of you!  My Rack only holds 51 Rifles and I need another rack. The A frame design is what im thinking of Building with castors on the bottom. But that one there my friend is Sweeet! and has the History behind it.

Well that's the zillion dollar question Mike ... I've wondered that myself. I consider this a piece of factory hardware and different from a rifle - I don't see the point in letting it remain dinged up but as long as there is no rust or rot present I'll likely leave it be and just treat the wooden base with some steel wool and varnish for protection - no need to replace those parts.

No worries Hoadie ... I've have several similar requests from others for specs also.

im with you there - id tend to keep her intact and if the need for more storage arose id make a new one in an upgraded material form - to match of coarse , and i think a brass I.D. plate for that original , congrats on a great find
