Howdy you all. I do hunt, small game, bigger game and turkeys.
I shoot mostly bolt action military surplus rifles for hunting and for fun. As a matter of fact I seen on another forum that a fellow shot and killed an elk with a Swiss K31.
I do own a Savage Mark II-BV that I use for my small game and a Mossberg 12 GA. for turkeys. I also have a Taurus Raging Bull Model 444 .44 Mag. revolver that I carry as a backup (ever see a charging squirrelLOL). The rest of my guns are bolt action military surplus rifles.
1- Savage made #4 MK1*
1- BSA made #4 MK1
1- Scmidt Ruben K31
2- FN made Israeli K98's in 7.62 NATO
And a sporterized Remington made M1917 that I am working on and a very very messed up (cut barrel, cut stock, bad and out of aligned sights)  #4MK1 I call my uglee Enfield that I will be turning into a beautiful hunting rifle.
And I am working on building a Isaac Haines flintlock in .54 caliber.
I work at a Honda/Yamaha dealership as a mechanic. I rent a space at a different shop to work on H-D's, BSA's, Kawasaki's etc... I hunt, excavate, prepare and sell fossils. I also tan hides (brain tan only).
And I am a follower of Jesus of Nazareth. Married to a wonderful and beautiful woman. I have a equally beautiful (will be 2 this Nov. 16th) daughter and another child coming in March.
I spent 11 years in the U.S. Army as an Infantry Scout.
I'm just a regular guy.

Hey OBW!  Let me know how the 1917 goes...I have a BSA 1917 as well that I picked up to be fiddled with.  Also, if you could let me know of any literature that you find...seems to be that short of the fact that they were sporterized by BSA, there's nothing else to find...

Thanks all for the welcome.
White Rhino, I got the Israeli K98's from a friend. I'm not real attached to them yet but I do dig the history of them for sure. How did the critter feeding (hay) go?
allan, CR500Star!! no thanks, not for me, I want to liveLOL. That bike is way more burly than me. But I don't mind tooting around on a Yamaha TT500. Which is still more bike than I can use or handle but they are fun to ride.

Cookie Monster, Not sure why but I even like the VTX1300 over its 1800 big brother. I've got no problems with Harleys, I've owned them so I know what you mean. I prefer Kawi Z-1's, KZ900's, KZ1000's, Hon. SOHC 750's, and most 650 BSA's and Triumphs.

Dukeoflawnchair, My BSA Enfield is a 1943 #4 MK1 and my 1917 is the U.S. Model 1917, that I think is sometimes called a P17 or a U.S. Enfield. As a matter of fact I was down at the local gun shop today and he just got in a nicely sporterized Eddystone made M1917. Might have to buy that one, we'll see.

yeah, my 1917 was a remington made one that was sporterized by BSA sometime afterwards.  I gather that the Eddystones had a lot of problems with hidden cracks in their receivers that made them real unsafe.  Rumor has it that it's because the barrels were too tightly attached...

Hey Oldbikewrench, If you are interested in selling the Isrealie K-98s let me know befor you do we may be able to make a deal or some thing.
I found a Spanish Gaurdia at a flee market in Richmond hill GA.  for $60.00
my first old Rifle and then went back and found a Savage model 220A 20 gauge crack barrel hammerless. My First Mauser was a Turkish 38 rebarrel
and then a Yugo and a Bosnian, then i orded three rifles from Ammunitionstore they had a problem with my order being filled, seems they did not have on hand what i orded and i had to wait then when every thing was in order my shipment arrived and instead of the Enfield they sent me an SKS. well I called and after all the talking they said look we have only one left but it doesnt have a Magazine. would you take it if we take $30.00 off the price? i said yes! ofcoures and i ended up with a SMLE III with yellow paint on the muzzel end and shoots like a dream, then i came down with the Enfield Fever! while waiting on it i picked up a No# 4 MK1 at my local gun shop(Houma Auto Parts) and then a 3 fer deal which turned out great, supposed to have cracked stocks only one had a bad crack. and now i'm in love with the Enfield its my favorite but i collect any and all Millsurp rifles and Pistoles got 3  Russian Nagant Pistoles and 2
C Z 52s 1 in 7.62x25 and one in 9mm a C Z 50 in .32 My step Dads old 38 special S&W Police Special, and a 38 spec. Derringer from the step Dad  and various other Rifles. also got some Romanian Pellet Rifles been selling them got me a case and a half of them, think i got 5 or 6 of them left.
Right now im working on my gun room. got to get it done so the Wife will let me get more guns!!!!!  OH help me! my daughter just got home and she is talking to me and telling me about the shoes she just bought..... and ..... and.... Yall get the point! if i get off this computer she will stop talking. yes!, i know what yall are saying it cant be that simple but it is her and my Wife are the same, the only time they have anything to say is when your watching TV or on the computer. so talk to yall latter.

Well White Rhino I'm still deciding on how I feel about those K98's. It might be a little while before I figure that out. But if I decide I don't care for them you can have first go at them. How's that?

Hello everyone. Being the FNG I am going to follow the rules and do as I am told. I see that there is a trend of vintage bikes and great rifles. I am a KZ1000 nut and have owned several in my life. I currently have a 1943 no. 4, mk1 that was retooled by Gibbs Rifle and a 1941 Lithgow no.1. I am currently in the hunt for a no.4 for military rifle match shooting.
