They aren't exactly common in the U.S. Most that are are the Indian repro's to fit a bobbed No1 Barrel too

I have a "bobbed" No 5 flash hider needing similar treatment. I had thought about doing a repair at some point or another but haven't gotten to it. Mostly becuase I had only begun to envision the steps necessary to get it done. OP's post will be reference for when I get to it for sure. Thank you.

Even after seeing your pix .....beats the crap outa me how you got that flash hider off .......Mine 1st #5 was missing the flash hider ....I give up in the end and bought another with one still intact . |

Doh! I just read my post ,I meant to say mine was missing the bayonet lug .....not the flash hider .
I removed the locating pins but I couldnt get the flash hider off .......even tried heating it . My replacement #5 is a much better example so it wasn't a total waste of time ......bl00dy well should be too....cost me more than my last car š
