Hi,
I have a No4 Mk1 with only a few markings on it, and i'm confused. Does the triangle mean it's from the Greek civil war and belonged to the Royalist Paramilitary forces? I thought there was supposed to be Greek writing with it, but this is just a simple triangle with nothing else. The triangle also looks a bit rough and doesn't look like it was done with one stamp, but instead with a small chisel or something. Look at the pictures and tell me what you guys think. thanks, Martin ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

That stamp looks like a DIY job with a chisel. So I doubt it was done in service.
The rifle is a Maltby manufacture.

It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice!

Yes, the “delta” symbol has been attributed to Greece. Seems more than a few Greek rifles also had the “46” stamp on the butt socket. As far as the absent additional EK/SEOS markings, not every Royalist rifle was marked with it, unsurprising given the crude nature of these markings to begin with.
