Here I am this Happy collector of things 303 and I keep straying.  I went into this gunshop and there was this beautiful M-39 Finnish Rifle that was insisting that I buy it and take it home.  What else could I do?Smile

1942 SA for those of you who know more about these than I do.

Oh what sling does it take and are bayonets availible?
And how do you remove the cleaning rod?Tongue

Some guys can fall off the wagon , into a manure pile and still come up smelling like a rose...
The M39 is kinda an "inbetweener" of the Mosin 91/30 and m38/m44 as far as length but it's made with abit more "class" . The 7.62x54r is a no guff heavy hitter.
Slings might be found here ;

Hoadie ,  I use a bubba'd Ljungman for coyote hunting and will absolutley agree with it being a blast to shoot . Accurate , mild recoil and hits surprizingly hard.
Here in SouthWestern Ontario , we have a caliber restriction to .275 cal ( for hunting) and the 6.5x55 is well within the rules/regulations

I personally like my McTikka with its happy meal plastic stock.

I shot three goats with it yesterday Thumbs%20Up

Tikka make great rifles for the money that shoot deadly accurate out of the box ... they are owned by Sako so that ought to say something. Despite all the ownership musical chairs I think they are a great product - I'm a wooden stock man though - not a fan of plastic fantastics.

Im with you Tikirocker- I love the wood stocks. Thats the reason I'm into MilSurps so bad. Ever since I was a youngin I dreamed of owning a full Manlicker style Stocked Rifle. That dream came to be when I was in Germany. Went down to the local Rod & Gun Club in Aushaffenburg and fell in love with this Voere' Titan II -  full lenght stock oooooH! I love it .
and the rest -well you can see I'm hooked deep  and good... If I could find wood for my AR it would have wood furniture on it. LOL! Bet that would be Pretty!
As wood goes and stock lenght the more wood the better in my eyes. Is one of my favorite attributes of the Enfield..... Need I say More????

Rhino,

I hear ya mate ... one of the things I always loved about the Aussie SLR L1A1 Lithgow was the wood stocked hand guard ... it was a steel and wood affair then in 7.62mm - butt was wood, body was steel, handguard wood etc... not like our craptasticplastic F77 AUG 's these days.

Worst thing they ever did taking the old SLR out of comission. If they were so set on 5.56 rounds why the hell didn't they retool it to that calibre? It was reliable solid not like the SA80 crap they issued in its place! Heckler and Koch had to do over a 100 modifications on the dammn thing just to make it work. Little things like the magazine release catch, walk with the rifle and suddenly your mag is on the floor, bash the butt a bit too hard and it broke. Bullpup design! Yeah they sold the army a right pup and to crown it all it was designed by Enfield!!!
