Well, that is the aim BUT I am having some serious problems in finding Enfields for sale here in France.
First, some background in case anyone thinks  I am mad.

Military Caliber weapons here are Category 1 and Category 4. This means lots of hoops to leap through and paper to stamp. It also involves the local police.
Civilian or Hunting caliber weapons are Category 5 and easy to acquire and mean NO paperwork except a registration that is easy to do.

I am trying to find an Enfield here in what is called .303 sporting. This is basically a .303 British case that is shortened by 3.6mm overall and takes a charge that is 20% less than a .303 British.

I have been looking around and I can only find one company that has any stock and today they said they only had one No1 MkIII* and once sold they would not be getting any more. At 510€ / $810 its expensive. ( A No:4 in the UK is about $450! )

I am more interested to buy a No:4 and just wondered if ANYONE on the site knows of a source in France that I could contact for some help.

Duncan.

Mate I have no idea but I thought we had it bad here in Australia ... I have seen Enfield rifles advertised in the UK for plenty more than you've stated above too ... when I saw some prices in a UK target magazine my jaw nearly hit the floor. I know there is a big place in Italy that has huge stockpiles of SMLE's ... you could import from them but I am not sure how difficult that would prove and from memory they have questionable quality and high prices ... but massive stockpiles.

Good luck though!

This where you mean I think. I have been trying to find someone who would import them but no joy so far. The contacts that Euroarms give in France all say they don't deal with Italy. AngryAngry

Can a supplier deal with one of the U.S. companies like Century or Samco? I know Century used to export to England. They wouldn't have the altered shell, you would have to alter it there. We have some members in the U.K., does anyone know of a French source?

Have a look at the Belgian suppliers. They may have something. A lot of the lads who have what is now classed as section 5 ( banned weapons in the UK now) shifted their stuff to Belgium where the regulations aren't as draconian as they are here in the uk.

I am going to try and contact Cornet & Co, Brusseles as they appear to be Euroarms agents for the Italian Enfields and they may have a solution. I will keep you posted!

Just outa curiosity, how easy/difficult is it for folks outside the US to buy US made mil-surps?  I only ask because it sure seems like we have access to a lot of non-US weapons for relatively little money, but US made weapons cost us a boat-load of money.

Just a thought,
Eric

Eric. Most US milsurps of ww2 vintage are either auto or semi auto and they are banned in the uk. I have seen the odd springfield around but prices are through the roof so there isn't much of a market for them here.

We are going to have a get together there sometime next year. Tony is working out all the details. It is just a jump accross the Tunnel/Channel for you to come.
