I've had no personal experience with the Hornady light magnums myself, in fact I've been avoiding them.
There were several who tried them out in .308 in semi-auto rifles a while back, all had issues with the gas system.
Obviously this will have no effect in a bolt gun, but it does indicate that in order to get the higher velocities advertised there has been some magic worked with the loads.
Hornady has access to powders that reloaders don't so there were warnings on the early boxes about attempting to duplicate the loads with commercial powders.

Based on this I don't think I'm going to risk these in my 50+year old actions designed for cordite, just to get another 100fps.

Not that I've found.
There is the "For use in modern high-strength actiions in good condition" disclaimer though.
I'd guess they were within the maximum SAAMI range because of the possibilities of lawsuits though.

Well that explains it then, Most of use shoot traditional Enfields with standard actions and would not have no use for a light Magnum
