Seeing a post this morning reminded me of how the Hun's Head or #14 target can be used. At Bisley they set up a replica of a German trench parapet on Little Siberia @ 200 yards with loop holes and they show the #14 for three seconds every seven seconds at random loops and the only points are given for the center of the face 5 and 4. Ten shot strings for a possible 50 points a leg. I did well the first two legs with mid and high 40s but dropped to mid 30 on the last leg in the rain..
![]() I brought two targets home with me and some day I will get a run printed up but here you guys go. Thanks for starting the post.

he!!o MJ11,
When were you on my home range, I guess looking at the leaves on the trees and those trees on the right have now been trimmed it was some time ago. This is a style of shooting I enjoy with a standard battle sighted .303 SMLE and No4 or my 7.62 No4 great fun if you beat someone with a modern scoped rifle.

Er sorry do not think I know the gentleman pictured, we have our own club RCO's so do not need to use valuable NRA ones, although I'm a member of the NRA I do not shoot with them as a club. Having had a closer look it does look a bit like Fred of the VAA (vintage arms association).

Mr Ape
That is a shame. Maurice was an amazing man. I hope he is still driving his Rover to the Trafagar meets. I have to thank him, he let me shoot two of his specials against the some of the Marines on the McQueens course with their train-up rifles just before deployment.. I was laughed off at sign in. That changed into a protest after the second leg. I have zero creds as my Mum was the shooter in our home and I am not an expert on any thing. I will never forget the Long Ranges for their format of having all the targets at 900M and you just move the shooters forward. I saw a few shenanigans when Cadets just stood up and marched left into the 400M lanes during live firer. But I have never seen such organized club rooms with cleaning facilities and the Shooters Bar opens at 8 AM. Beans bacon and a shanday. SP? Our lane was next to a Welsh couple H&W and she had just bested him @ 600 with her #4 MkII, I think because he was what I would call swearing in Martian street talk. Again I have to thank my hosts they took a gamble on an unknown American. ![]() |
