I have a sling that a family member gave me in the sixty that was tied up with string was very curly. I washed it and hung it outside with a weight, a bottle of vinegar, on the end as a weight.
When it dried it was no longer curly. Hope this helps.

You could try post whipping it. Find a 2~4" round post, wood, metal doesn't matter. Nothing too rough or heavily abrasive. Take the sling & pass behind the post. how work it round the post by holding the ends, & see sawing it round the post a few times. Tension & how many passes will depend on you, start with "light" & 10. repeat or adjust as needed. I break all slings in the way when new.

I had one that was twisted up pretty badly.
I soaked it in a large pot of hot water for roughly 20 minutes and then layed it flat on my patio and placed bricks on top of it and let it dry...

I was avoiding wetting because I was concerned any dye stampings might dissolve or fade.
