the topic is a death of course , but what i noticed ins the star is robert blake - ive had mixed feeling f him over the years as an actor , some things i liked him in , some very much , the one i really disliked him in was "in cold blood" but thats because he was very believable in that one played the cold blooded killer almost too well , never forgot it

Remember "Alfred Hitchcock Presents" TV show back in the 1950's and '60's? I loved watching it in glorious Black and White.

The thing with good actors is they can play dreadful "Heels" well, even if they don't have a mean bone in their body. Allan Rickman comes to mind! During my years of dealing with celebs I found out that for the most part, the "Heels" are actually the nice guys!

Never got in to his type of show. Just cheap at no my cup of tea.
If it is not Earl Grey, then take it away. I think the shows where on to late for this farm boy and only had one tv till I went in the Army.

When I returned from Germany I came back with a black and white tv.
My parents had a color tv. I did not get color tv till my parents gave their old one. When I left the Army I did buy a color tv. TV is ok but I never got used to it. As a teenage I did shoot a color tv in the dump just to watch it implode. |

In 1997, my Cav Squadron was coming back from the National Training Center at Ft Erwin, Ca. Our entire squadron moved to Victorville Airport (formerly George AFB). We were there about four days waiting for C-5s to haul our helicopters, vehicles, equipment and personnel back to Ft Bragg (always be Bragg to me).
While we were there, the movie “Face Off” with John Travolta and Nicholas Cage was being filmed. It was the scenes where the helicopters were chasing the jet and when the jet crashed into the hangar. It had been only a couple of years since the Air Force had moved out and it was like a ghost town. About the only place to go that wasn’t the hangar we were sleeping in, was the small cafeteria at the base of the control tower. One day, Travolta came in. Very pleasant guy, he is a very experienced airline pilot in addition to being an actor. Went around and greeted most of us there at the time, chit chatted with a bunch of us. Talked about flying with the pilots. Next day, Nick’s limo pulled up out front, a couple of gorillas jumped out and started clearing a hole for King Nick. What a d#ck. Wouldn’t acknowledge our presence let alone try to be friendly. Travolta was ferrying his 707 across the country while the air races were going on. He made a low level banked pass for the crowd. I was there with my two youngest sons, my brother and our Dad. What a showman! |

If you can't stand the answer, don't ask the question.

it will always be fort bragg to me as well , this BS of renaming military bases to please those that object to honoring civil war generals - that were americans BTW - is rubbing me wrong in every way , tearing down statues and defacing government property ----pretty soon some of us will have had our fill of their BS and things will get adjusted , mat start flying my stars and bars on my driveway pole again ,
sorry to hear you had that encounter with cage , sounds like travolta made up for it , i had occasion to meet the cast of grumpy old men - all of them at a hotel in st paul when they were filming , they were all nice and ann margret is/was great looking , then i had occasion to shoot at an event in nashville when louise mandrell was there [she was a member] my friend and i shot trap with her - shes a pretty good shot , or was that day , i really enjoy the old B&W shows i recall as a younger person , particularly perry mason , |

Cage is well known for being a complete little sh1t. there's several complaints from co-workers been reported. He treats fellow cast & crew like rabid dogs.
