Greetings from Wales, the land of song and rugby. Many thanks for letting me join this group. I am retired after working with the MoD on small arms and medium calibre weapons for more years than I care to remember. I have been an avid shooter since I was knee high. I have recently bought my first Enfield, a Longbranch No4 Mk converted to 7.62NATO.

Haverfordwest, Target Shooting Club in Pembrokeshire for the main part. We only have 50 and 100 yards ranges there, but we do get to use Penally and Castle art in Military Ranges occasionally for longer distances.

In 1987, our rugby club did a tour of southern England and Wales. We played five games total. Four in England, one in Wales. Second division. We won three games in England. We absolutely got our asses whupped and handed to us in Wales. Cheers!

Welcome aboard. I used to spend my weekends in South Wales, all over the Brecons & the Preseli Hills. I was one of the transfer crew when HMS Golscrest became RAF again as "RAF Brawdy". (THAT dates me!).

My visit to Wales? Not so enjoyable. Bitters was good. The three stitches a Welsh village Doctor who happened to be at the match put into my eyebrow (without freezing) then berating me to get back in there was an experience!

I remember a lot of aircraft around my area all from Brawdy, mostly Navy, mainly Hunters and the occasional Gannet.

Thank you for the invite to Bisley. I may well take you up on the offer one day when I have mastered the Enfield.

Absolutely! Our coach was a Welshman that had immigrated to Canada in the '60's and was a principle of a local high school. I took up the game late in life (25 years old) and played number 8. He once told me "football (soccer) was a gentleman's game played by hooligans and rugby was a hooligans game played by gentlemen." At age 60, he could still slot a penalty goal kick from 30 meters out. Very nice gentleman. Had a deep booming voice like Tom Jones and Richard Burton.
