Heck, I'm just getting my '55 Faz mummy broken in to the point the bolt is slicking up!
Suncorite on Suncorite is NOT the world's slickest physical interface. ![]() |

Nice looking rifle when we see a bit more of it MJ!
That's a grand looking rifle too, Shamu! Actually, my Maltby has only been fired once as far as I know. The stock was pretty well charcoal when it was rescued from a house fire!! :-) LOL..

As we are on to late production No4Mk2's; I have a question!
One of these was advertised recently in France, and they said it was a parkerised finish instead of suncorite. I was interested in the rifle; as it looked new (and was stated as having only had 40 odd rounds through it) But I had a doubt about the parkerised finish. Is that possible for Faz 1955 production? I think it's been sold now ![]() |

I doubt it, mine is a '55 Faz from the wrap & its Suncorite.
IIRC the original was paint over park. (Suncorite over a parkerised metal.) The later Savage made No4 Mk1*s were a greenish-colored park. |

MJ you must have a huge workshop to hold your collection. You are lucky to live in a place that allows you to collect without hinderance; and seem to have a eye for a good rifle!
But how do you find the time to look after them all? |
