HT, yes it should.  You may have a short (-) front sight giving a high POI.

That was another option. As mentioned, today's trip was confirming if the rifle would shoot and function, which it did. It definitely will be exciting next summer tuning it in, developing a load.

You may find that when getting the elevation 'wound down' that the original rear sight is 'blocking the view' and you will need to remove it. I couldn't use the 5A on the 75 metre (82 yard) range.

Yeah it'll wind down a long way.
You can get it to 100 easily enough, assuming the right height front sight blade.
You should set for 200 ideally though because the vernier wont work in negative numbers.
The existing rear sight will absolutely be in the sighting plane!

Shamu. If you remember, you noticed that the rear site was sitting high. It was because it had a windage adjustable site installed but the top wood was full and not machined down. He did send me a machined top piece, but I decided to remove and save the rear site, as the original top wood matched the rest of the furniture.

There ya go.
For an initial zero just boresight the PH5A.Then click in ignoring the scales completely. once zeroed then unbolt & slide the range plate.
