My BSA SHT LE 1*** has the square cocking piece.

It could have been out on when refurbished for WW1 or who knows.

The Bolt is early and has the Charger built onto the Bolt.

Can that square Cocking piece be changed out with an Oval Early piece.
They look exactly the same to me from pictures - stamping can be a slight difference of course.

Not interested in filing and tweaking and fitting - hoping it could be just a simple swap for Aesthetics.

Yes - BUT make sure you don't use a No4 oval cocking piece (different threads)

yes as stated above , and correct change to make if of the right vintage , are you now one of the many here trying to correct a mkI*** ? tell us of how far you have gotten , there are so many bits that potentially need to be found , but one of the most rewarding quests these days save trying one of simon's long lees - im not getting that done in my limited lifetime
