Went to the range.  Set up the chronograph, taped up my targets, loaded up the magazine with .312" 174gr HPBT GRAF bullets that where charged with exactly 38.0grns of IMR 3031 and primed with CCI #250 primers and got to work. I purposely have not cleaned the barrel yet and it had 80 rounds fired through it prior to this shoot. Without attempting any serious shots,I was initially just resetting the scope and checking the FPS of each shot. Every shot was either 2428 or 2430 fps with nothing faster and nothing slower. When I decided it was time to score myself, the barrel was well warmed. The best ten shot group from the 174grn BTHP was well under 1.00" vertically and laterally.  I decided it was time to test the Lapua D166 bullets that were charged with exactly 35.0grns of IMR 3031 and primed with CCI #250 primers.  The best ten shot group I had was V shaped but still within an acceptable grouping. The flyers in the shots were not counted.
I think I am just going to keep using the Hornady bullets. It does not seem to matter what powder I use. The groupings stayed pretty consistent. This was done at 100 yards as well...Hug...

Yes, it doesn’t get any better.  The velocities look good too.  That’s odd only two different velocities recorded.  It’s about unheard of to get a 2 fps extreme spread, might be something wrong with the chrono.

Id be interested in seeing the velocities of the 40 gr Norma 202 load if you can chrono that time time.

I think you’ve shown that these rifles do perform very well with more than one brand/type of powder. They also seem to perform well to a fairly broad range of velocity.

britrifles.  Nothing wrong with the chronograph. I ran 50 rounds of regular charged loads where I did not weigh each one to a specific charge like my test loads and I saw 2411,2377,2455,2453,2441,2423,2398,2401,2451,and 2448 respectively. The actual test loads were charged with exactly 38.0grns and I weighed each charge three times before I loaded the case to ensure each load was exactly 38.0grns.
My next batch to shoot is in fact the 40.0grn Norma charged. The velocities should not exceed 2525 according to Norma...

The 200grn .310" Lapua D166 bullets, (I only chronographed five shots) ran, 1986,2012,2025,1973,and 1997...

The last two photos show ten shots using the 200grn Lapua rebated boattail D166 bullets that are .3105". I used exactly 35.0 grains of IMR3031 and each round was primed with CCI 250 magnum primers. Total OAL is 3.307.5" with each case trimmed to 2.215". A brand new two groove barrel was installed and a .074" nogo gauge was used to correct any issues with headspace prior to firing. Firing pin protrusion was properly adjusted as well after installation of the new and unissued bolthead. The rifle was just a receiver when I took possession of it. The end result is what you see here.
