always store my rifles muzzle down with oil in the bore

I was told there are 2 "correct" ways.
1: Muzzle down, for all the reasons given.
2: Almost horizontal, but with a slight downward cant for the muzzle.
Having said that, I store like most butt down with no problems.

I think we are probably more careful with the amount of oil used before storing the rifle than the military.
It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice!
