I cannot say yes or no with that one. I have an Uberti Colt Walker and an Uberti 1851 Reb model Navy that I use the Pyrodex P with exclusively so it worked out for the Enfield as well. A very light yet crisp recoil followed by some smoke...

My only issue with substitutes is the grain size is considerably bigger than "Holy Black". Not really a problem most of the time but, when you're scrounging for that last 1/4 grain it does rear its ugly head.

Grain size does affect burn rate.  I use Fg in the Snider and Martini.  Probably a bit course for the .303...

I don’t know what grain size was used to load the .303 Mk I Ball cartridge, any maybe compressing it as much as they did it practically became a solid pellet.

I believe it was cast as a solid pellet with "holes passing through it, to control the burn rate" so I assume it was wet extruded somehow.
I used FFg as I had it & some FFFg for the .50 Hawken & the Remington NMA.

Had to clean out my powder cabinet so I could move it, I had a bit more powder than I thought.  Might get me thru the next two or three years of shooting.

Daddy!Big smile

Here in Beautiful Downtown MD we're only allowed 5 Lbs.
It was 10, then they dropped it to 8 so the 8# keg was born, so they dropped it to 5 in celebration.
