No C on the barrel. A8915 would be Shirley correct? No England export or proof on the barrel. Interarms import mark. Other side of the wrist is clean. ?

here are a few more photos of the 1941 with paint.  Let me know if you want additional angles. There is a possible date marking on right side of stock “756” but no FTR stamp anywhere that I can see.

756 would be the rack/rifle number for the armorer . I have a 1916 that was FTR in 53 it has green paint , also have a hBarrel with green paint . Not really seen black paint .

Myles.  That rifle does have the import marks but barely legible. Your rifle has all the telltale signs of being scrubbed by Pakistan Ordnance Factory. The A8*** serial number is the main tell.
Serial numbers by each Factory:
Maltby  12345
Fazackerly  23456
BSA 34567
Long Branch 77L 4766
Savage 73C2642
The scrubbed rifles got whatever serial number they came up with...

The laws of probabilities can have that rifle originally made by any of the five of original factories. If I am remembering correctly though. The Fazackerly plant was moved to the Wah Cantt Pakistan plant so, it could have been a Fazackerly made Enfield originally. The C inside the circle on that rifle? Not certain as of yet...
