badstang, the mineral spirits you mentioned..is that mineral turps(turpentine)

I try only to restore as needed. To maintain the historic significance. When cleaning the wood I only remove the dirt and debris. I try to leave the wood as intact as possible. Now in the event I get a basket case in dire need of repair. I restore accordingly.
