hi, i'm new to the enfield world. Recently givin a No. 4 Mk 1* long branch 1943. Some of the markings i can find are- CAL ST AIR VT 303 CAN. Can anyone give me any help? I would like to learn more about it.

Hello and welcome. I recently found this site as well. I'm still on my learning curve as well but am getting better every day. I'm sure someone will be able to shed some light on you question.

That is the importers mark.
Should be: CAL - Century Arms (Ltd?) Older version of CAI ST AIR VT = should be Saint Albans Vermont look closer AIR might actually be ALB 303 - .303 caliber, of course CAN -adian Post pictures ... we just love to see pictures |

Thanks for the info I will look closer. Working on pics, it is all original as far as i can tell, shoots very well. Hope to have pics soon. Are all the markings going to be visible?

CAL - Century Arms (Ltd?) Older version of CAI, these guys are idiots. They will ruin an excellent Milsup by stamping all that garbage on them

Can you help me out? Markings No 4 Mk 1* - cai st alb vt 303 can Long Branch 1943 there is a C with an A or V with a line in middle of the V. On the for arm there is an X with an arrow pointing down to the butt. there is a M with a V or an A on by the front sight. On the bolt it looks like 2 arrows in a X pattern a D on left side a C on right side if you r looking from the top and some other symbols i cant make out. There is also a I 11 around the trigger . Any help would be great, still workin on pics. Thanks
