30grains of H4198 behind some hornady 123gr .310 cal bullets gets me around 2275fps from a 25" barreled P14 & shoots into just over a inch at 50 metres thru open sights. I'm using reloaded Mk VII berdan cases & pressure is way mild. It has the advantage in that a double charge will just overflow the case so no possiblity of that happening unnoticed. This is very close to duplicating 7.62x39 ballistics.

Thanks for that Hoadie. I heard of Wolverines from what little I know they're similar size to a badger and totally fearless and ferocious. Been known to actually ambush a man but how true that is I don't know.

Depending on what you want the load to do, you can drive light bullets fast, slow, and anything in between. Generally I load the light pistol bullets around 1400fps. It's enough to dispatch a rabid raccoon in the yard, and accurate enough for target shooting at least out to 50 yards, and probably 100. The load is also relatively economical, using small charges of faster burning powder. At the other end of the spectrum, I drive 150gr bullets close to 2700fps for serious work.

Tony & Hodie,
I have Mink out the wazoo down here. We usually see them alot crossing the road.. seen one last friday coming home from work about 200 yrds up the road from my house.
I have run into them hunting back in the swamp a few times. Most of the time they just run off and Hide.
I had my best Dog ever Collie crossed with a Golden Retreiver. called Her Sammy Girl.
She hated Mink with a passion also Nutria Rat too.
She would not give up and often came home with a root stuck in her mouth.from chewing at the root  ball of a tree trying to get at the Mink...
Nutrias were easy for her. She would circle them and attack when they would turn to catch her making the circle....

We have mink running wild in Lincolnshire from stock that was released illegally by greenies when they raided mink farms. Did a lot of damage too but I think they been trapping them systematically and farmers shooting them.

Personally, I'm sure the "greenies" are just anti-civilization.
