i have spent the last couple weeks frantically scrambling to move my massive accumulation of stuff from the office i have occupied for 20 years , we are moving , an event ive dreaded but knew was coming eventually , had hoped to have more that two and a half weeks to git-er-done tho
many of you may have seen so sorry to bore but here are the gun cabinets that have graced the office and displayed my collection , served as the backdrop for many of my photos , and added to the conversation in many threads over the years , - these were just loaded into the trailer of a friend going off to a new home .............
- there are three such fronts
- there is this rolling storage chest
- there was my US collection of older rifles and handguns
- there was my Commonwealth collection of early rifles and handguns
and there was the corner unit with my newer rifles of both collections and a couple inglis pistols
never fear my collection is intact less a few planned sales that have occured over the past year and actually a few select purchases over that period , and residing in my new gun room , the ammo was the big[heavy] move , but the rest was no pic nic trust me , still trying to sort things out

i built a walk-in gun room , not all that big but it will do the job for my collection , my accumulation of 22s , and my 3-gun , SASS , and shotgun sports pieces ,
it will not be perfect but close as i can get , i will miss being able to swivel 180 and open my case and handle my rifles etc , my referance books are no longer at my fingertips either - they went home to a bookshelf ,
end of an era i guess , maybe one day all will come back together in one place before i die :>}

i got relocated , digs are much smaller but they work for work ,
as to the cabinets , they are in their new home , my friend half filled them with his accumulation - and mentioned needing to shop for more , told him that was as good a reason as any to buy more guns ,
..........i think his wife put a hit out on me
as to my collection and accumulation , its all home and slowly getting settled in the new gunroom , the worst part of the move was the ammo , between the various calibers i collect and shoot i have well over 15,000 rounds and that adds to a lot of weight - had to look carefully at where i put it and how the load was distributed

My next house will have a gun room. That topic would make a great new thread, perhaps I will post it and ask for ideas on how to properly secure the room from the rest of the house, alarms and etc.
