he!!o!

I'm new to Enfields, so I was hoping to get a little bit of help identifying the markings on this rifle. I saw it at a local gun shop for cheap....and for the price I paid for it as long as it goes boom when I pull the trigger it was worth it. I may be new to Enfields, however I'm not new to firearms in general. I've owned everything from several Mosins, ARs, pistols, etc.

Anyways, here are some pictures. It is a MKIII. I've used red crayon in the pictures to help the markings stand out. I know that the FTR means that it was factory refinished in 1953. Its obviously a British gun. Thats all I know.

On the right side strap close to the trigger its stamped "SMLE" then right below that "III". On the oposite side directly under the safety its stamped "BRITISH". I was unable to get good pictures of these parts.

Here are the rest :

Thank you in advance for the replies.

The first picture looks like the Birmingham Nitro Proof markings.  These were applied before a rifle was offered for civilian sale to signify the barrel had been tested to withstand the pressures of ammunition.  This was done regardless of any previous testing done by the military, even if had been fired the day before being sold.

And there's the famous BSA 'piled arms' trademark on the knox form.
(I think the same company making motorcycles and rifles is really cool)
Can you post a pic of the whole rifle?

the second picture indicates it went through FTR [factory repairs] and it was done in 1953 ,

The third picture is likely of more pressure test markings.
