Well, I for one- am chuffed! Defence minister just announced Canada is reverting back to the British style of rank insignia. (No more shoulder boards for us!!It back to "pips" & crowns!)
All that tradition was erased by the liberals over the years..but the conservatives have restored the identity of each branch(instead of Candaian Armed Forces)now its Army, Navy & Air Force..with PROPER uniforms. As well now, were going back to "Leff-tenant" etc. Oh what a glorious day! Back to our lineage & traditions. But don't worry..you will still be able to tell us & the Brits apart...we say "EH" a lot...& "yeah". Hoadie |

Smashing! When I was in the Navy we made a Port Call in Halifax. I really felt sorry for the Candian sailors having to wear green uniforms and wear berets.

Yeah..they looked more like mechanics than professional sailors.Worst part is, under the liberal's integrated system, you were in the "Armed Forces". You could be transferred to an air odr army base / unit at any time!
(I never did dispense with the old flat hand salute, much to the ire of some folks) Hoadie |

Conservatives have been re-building what the Liberals tore down.
Its a long road..Trudeau wanted to COMPLETLY dismantle the military. So, neglect & budget reductions combined with NO new equipment left a destitute military. It may be small, but its back on track..& has been proving itself all over the globe Hoadie |

About time frankly. Reading the press, some are saying it's a distraction, but they shouldn't have gotten rid of it in the first place.

I raise my mug to the Canadian Military.
From the Boer War to today. Serving the world over. We should thank God for their service and sacrifices. |
