Ok, I know I don't need one for my scoped WW1, but dang, do I ever want one-any body ever come across anything like these?:

I haven't seen any variety of wire cutters in anything other than pictures unfortunately.

There was one for sale quite recently on a French site, but it was expensive, so I did not enquire about it.
I will see if it's still for sale. I do not know what they are worth, or indeed if they are rare. Maybe a collector could let us know what they are going for?

It's still for sale! Not surprising seeing as they are asking 245 Euro's.

that may be fairly close to the market in spite of giving us pause , these are hard to find and do not go cheap , shipping should not be an issue on that tho ,

Nice outfits! Very clean for the trenches.
Apparently the French made the uniforms blue so they would blend in with the sky on the horizon! Don't think the soldiers appreciated that much!

If the Sgt.Mag is mucky, he has lost an edge to bark at the men. One step ahead... thats the key! ;-) |

If the photo was in black and white you could probably convince someone it was taken in 1917! Is it hard to move in those uniforms with all the gear? It looks cumbersome and uncomfortable. Way Cool!!

The French soldiers trench coat is down to the ankles and lower flap corners would be fastened up close to belt level to allow more free movement when. Must have been real heavy when wet!
I think the British soldiers fared much better with kit and the rifles!

I didn't see Enfield wire cutters there, did I miss something?
Has anyone here bought the new stripper clips? How are they? How about a little sepia, & some vignetting for a "period" look |
