These use to be around but sometimes difficult to find and there are many variations and markings

I can't see the pic either. How are early ones different from the common ones?

he is mentioning the older versions of the chargers [clips] for filling the magazines , ive not seen all the variations and seldom see the older ones at gunshows here , used to see folks selling on these forums but not much anymore

They have longish oval slots in the back instead of round holes.

Didn't know that. It'd be cool to have some just because. When did they switch to the type that I'm sure we all have??

i'm going to have to dig in the reference book to provide dates for changes from one type to another , but i'm too tired tonight , ill get to it later this week unless someone else jumps in ,

i've not gotten into collecting such minutia as chargers , cartridges , oilers and such , but i do own period correct bits where i've found them for my period rifles , as well as bayonets , those are far more interesting to me , but i understand we do not all think alike and that is how i learn so much from these forums , by hearing what others are interested in and about those things i have not researched
