Good day!

I was given this Lee Enfield rifle a couple weeks ago and I am stumped as to what year or Model it is. From my search, I thinkI have narrowed it down to a SMLE No.1 MkIII but not sure. Through my searches I have seen many rifles with different numbers and symbols on them but my rifle is missing most of the stuff i have seen, So please bear with me and help me get this Rifle sorted out. Info I would like is kind of what year it is and maybe where is from, and where used, if that is possible. Will Post more pics when allowed.

 Thanks for the help!

Good day.

It says B.S.A C2, serial number  33906. There are really no other markings on the rifle anywhere. On barrel it shows .303, has the BM and crown. Also says Nitro on barrel.
Thanks for help

To me that looks commercial, not military?
HV is indicating it was barreled for the 174 gr spitzer type pointed bullets, not the 216 Gr round nose.
Isn't that earlier than the NO1 MkIII?

It looks like a BSA made commercially made Lee Enfield rifle; i.e. made for sale to target or sporting clients and not military contract. It would be nice to see photos of the complete rifle. The wood furniture in the last photo looks as if it's had some work done that's not to usual spec!

It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice!

Stock disc doesn't look commercial, but action stamps do.
Bitster, perhaps?

I think it's a  commercial made, more or less to No 1 Mk 111 specs. Commercial doesn't mean sporting, It means not Ordnance, but can Look military spec in every way, only sold private purchase.
Having said that it has the Birmingham military proof marks.
Wood well worked over, as it would have been stocked  up as a standard No 1 Mk 111 originally.
