I bought this Webley MK IV pistol tonight. Looks likes it is in great shape. Is the holster original?
Let me know what the experts think! Brad |

looks to me like you got a nice webley mkIV , its a 'vintage' holster of police origin i believe , it does not have the safety block so im thinking late 40s early 50s , but i cannot tell for certain from the photos , it is newer than WWII as tthey were marked "war finish" on the right side ahead of the trigger ,
i am sorry but photobucket dumped me again and i cannot post the p[hots i have , these were used extensively in singapore , hong kong and such , might be marked on the backstrap or elsewhere with the force , i had a singapore police pistol once , it shot really well , these are really fun to shoot - get some 38S&W ammo and it will not shoot to POA so you will have to hold off or alter the sights , i dont alter my collectibles , each to his own , FYI , its nice that this one is intact - grip scales , lanyard ring are often gone or replaced , not easy stuff to replace , and the whole rig is in used but excellent condition , i like my collectibles to look like they "been there " |

I'll have to get more pics tomorrow night. It does happen to say "war finish" on the left side. I will get good pics of any markings I can find. Is it OK to shoot current production ammo in it? I got a box of Winchester with it. Thanks again A square 10! Brad |

if it says "war finish" it is WWII , the date is on the barrel , and yes you can shoot current 38S&W , its a light load that will leave you wanting if your used to 38spcl , but very fun to shoot once you adjust your aim ,
i wish my photo bucket was still active - second time over the years they dumped my , lost a lot of photos and my avitar , oh wellllll..... i have webley 455 in mkI to mkVI , the 455 enfield mkVI and the enfield 380 mkI , II , and albion II* , the 'war finish' webley mkIV , as well as a 22cal in both the webley mkVI and mkIV , i dont shoot them enough i wish there was more time , they are my collection passion , even tho i collect US military handguns as well , i also collect bayonets |

Back in the days that the UK Government was banning cartridge loading pistols I was a Registered Firearms Dealer. For a short period I was able to buy Webley MKIV's from the 'Ministry of Defence' for £45 and sell them back to the 'Home Office' for destruction for £125
Do I feel guilty about it? Not a bit. They were destroying my business and my sport, so we made them pay. |

I've got a guy who wants this revolver and holster really bad. Any idea on a price to sell or trade. He is a good friend so I'm not wanting absolute top money just a good price for both of us to make a deal.
Does this auction reflect the current value of these guns? https://www.gunbroker.com/item/773906649 Thanks in advance! Brad |
