So I just got a 1915 shtle mkiii* from my dad but it doesn't have any sights or scope. Does anybody know where I can find some. Also it had a sportsterized stock but it is not the factory sporterized stock on it I will attach pictures. Does this add value. The brand of the stock is bishop. Also if anybody has any advice or anything else that can help me please comment and let me know.

That is a nice sporter. Don't worry so much about value, family value adds a lot. Now, if you are wanting iron sights I have parts but the question is how long is the barrel? If the barrel has been cut back then putting on iron sights is difficult at best. If not, then it is not a hard thing. Please take measurements of the barrel or at least pictures of the top end of the barrel.

That's a Bishop stock. I have one on my No4 mk 1. Awesome walnut! I believe they bought Fajen or the other way around. Either way, in my mind, the best after market stock for sportered Enfield. Wood, not plastic...

its a late BSA rifle as they were making the transition in that year , i have an early one still a mkIII [no star] for what it might be worth my observation is its a fine sporter nicely done and worth saving as is unless someone jumps in and says its in the condition to reclaim ,

the cost of reclaiming a mkIII* would be excessive for what the value of the rifle would be , dont let me stop you - i would not do it , but if you have discretionary money for that today i would do it , there are so many searching out parts but these would be the most readily available

Leave it alone.
You can find no tap scope mounts for the No1 on eBay.

Then I would say. Add some aftermarket Williams iron sights to it and go shooting.

Thank you bear43. I'm sure the barrel hasn't been cut but I will take a picture of the top later for you. I would like to get those iron sights if I could just let me know. My dad originally got the rifle from a competition shooter/gun collecter looking to get out of the business so I figured they had a scope on it thus no need for iron sights. I'm not trying to return it to original I'm just trying to get it to where I can go shoot with it.

Well said..but lets see if he can get original open sights first. If not, then we can muck about with aftermarket sights.

Complete sights (base & sight) show up on e-bay a lot. That should be all you need for a hunting rifle. If you want to go "high end" you could mount a Parker-Hale 5A in there directly, like this one, but its more a target than hinting type.

That is a very nice set of wood. It makes the rifle.

It looks like it still has its original length barrel. Providing that the tip of the barrel still has its small milled slot to take a key, a military surplus front sight ramp should mount up.
A military rear sight base mounts right around the barrel, so the forestock barrel channel will need to be inlet to accept it. But you would not need to cut, drill, or alter any metal work to fit them up.

I can't see any mounting holes in the left side wall for a scope mount. Do you see any threaded holes on top of the receiver ring or charger guide?

The vintage peep sight Shamu shows and similar can be pretty pricey units and not that tough to be bouncing around hunting.

There is a rugged little Williams peep sight would fit up with two small drilled and tapped holes to the right hand side of the back of the receiver. Williams Foolproof is the brand if you do a search. Modern materials, not expensive. Mount one of those and a military front ramp with a decent bead, it will be good to go.

Here are the pictures of the barrel where the slots for the sights are at.
