I've purchased a couple of new (cheap) air rifles so I can teach my daughter how to shoot.
These are the basic models that require pulling the barrel down to arm. That means she won't be able to arm it with out me or my wife present; safety is the order of the day. So she will have to learn all the rules while bursting ballons etc in the garden.
She will be 7 this month, and I promised her I'd teach her when she was 7. She was excited when we opened the box!
However I will have to make a new stock for her rifle because it's much too big. Had thought about cutting it down; but think it's probably better to make one from scratch.
The second rifle is for me, and the wife say's I need to get one for her as well.

Hopefully we'll have some fun with these this summer.
It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice!

That is great! It is nice how your wife and daughter have an interest in shooting. That will make for some good family memories down the road.

Smiles like hers make the heart grow warmer! Yes that butt stock is almost the same length as her legs, LOL.

that smile says it all , you have the start of a new shooter there , tell her rifles are better than boys - ingrain that for a while , you two[three] will enjoy a number of years together doing this till the hormones kick in then all bets are off ,

yes --i have experience here , the good thing is if you raised them well they return with that same smile suggesting you shoot together again , and yes i have that experience as well ,
mine went to beijing , london , and rio for the olympics [as a volleyball coach] and still comes home to shoot with me , now she brings my grandkids , who could ask for more ?

Sweet, there's nothing that can quite duplicate black powder.

The Enfield was blackpowder first. I’m sure some of you have and enjoy 3 band and 2 band Enfield 577 caliber rifles.
