I had mentioned earlier that I have one of my nephews a .22 Cooey MODEL 39 that was my long deceased Dad's. He was thrilled. In the last month, I've refurbished three Cooeys! A buddy had a beat up Cooey 75 Target. Stripped and oiled the wood, cleaned up the steel. Looks good. He paid me with a Cooey 39! This was a beater but again, redid the wood and cleaned up the steel. Just finished this up and my nephew dropped off his girlfriend's old .22 for a facelift. Guess what? It's a Cooey 75!

I'm guessing pretty much every Canadian male or female baby boomer that took their first shot out of any rifle, it was a Cooey! As Canadian as maple syrup and back bacon! (And Crown Royal!)

Cooey sights are solid and deadly accurate as long as the shooter does their part.

Agree. Pretty simple but highly effective sites. I also agree that it's the nut behind the wheel. When I worked, several guys got caught up with all the sniper movies. They bought $5000 bolt rifles, one a .338 Lapua Mag. Topped that with a $2500 scope. Showed me document on these were sub MOA weapons at any range. I was at the range with him last summer. I'm by no means a great shot, but at only 100yds, my scoped No4 Mk1 kept pace.

One of my first Cooeys cost me $9.00 used. Single shot. Dead accurate.
Needed an extractor, "(weak point) and a new one cost me Another $9.00!! V good barrels on those rifles.

I've mostly "pretty up" model 39's but buddy's 75 I recently did has a fatter stock and the barrel is, if I remember correctly, about 4" longer than the 39. He has never shot it, but the bore looks good so I suspect it'll be a tack driver!
