No to both. I still have some old copies of "Sentinel" kicking around though. I guess I am not the nostalgic type in that respect. After 41 years of Military/Public Service I suppose I had my fill. I still occasionally run into old comrades and people I worked/served with or served together on various federal committees over the years. Most like me are retired. I do read a lot of military history primarily about the two world wars. Military technology has always interested me too. |

As I mentioned a while back, I tried to enlist in the Canadian Reserves. I tried 20 years ago, but my work would not allow the eight weeks off for basic training. Now retired, I felt I had something to offer and the time to do it. I'm deemed to old as they said I would need to finish a three year commitment before I turned 60. Oh well.

We can only hope. It will take a Minister to make that kind of decision I am sure. |

Hey All, I'm new, first post.
I got my hands on the SAR version of the "C19" that's the designation for the new rifle. It's a nice rifle, chambered in 308 win, bolt action and 10 round detachable magazine. the stock is removable to shorten the overall length for stowing or parachuting. It has an awesome muzzle-break that deduces recoil too. As evident by the Blaze Orange it's for SAR. Take a look at the photo with the pen, it is pointing to a small tab under the safety that you "booger with" to be able to cycle the bolt with the safety on. Imagine doing that with gloves. |
