The irony of this picture is,for me that, I was instructed to aim for the teeth, whenever the situation presented itself.

This is the target they used when I shot the McQueens course on Little Siberia. An exciting action event. They would show a partial of the head in a loop in a German WW1 trench line 200 yards away for three seconds.

Figure 14 anything in the circle was 5 points anything else was 3 points. When you are only getting at most 50% of the head in the random loop for just a few moments and there were eight or ten loops. I think the loops were 8"X8" things go quick. No equipment newer than 1945 allowed. I have a few more pictures but I'm moving into a new PC today and don't know how much I will be able to save from the invasion we suffered Friday.

Cheers

Had to laugh but not so sure I shouldn't cry. My favourite shooting was the mechanical target range. The charging grunts all had big noses. Of course if you got caught just shooting at the nose you would be quickly and surely reminded to aim at centre of body. Just the same he who shot the most noses had his first beer free later in the mess.

Ah yes but in the match the points were in the nose. There for a perfect string was 50 points and you shot three strings. I think I went 43-38-mid 20's. The beer at the shooters bar was good though. And I did get to shoot four of the most amazing original WW1 and WW2 Enfield sniper rifles and hob knob with some of the real shooters at Bisley. Not bad for a Gringo.

in younger years ive always thought to take the wall right into the grave with me - now that im older im looking at how high it is and wondering if i need a ladder - how long it is and wondering how long it will take to walk around it and then wondering how big the dog on the other siide of it is and whether i feel like shooting a dog today ,

might be best to go the other way ....

Good targets and thread.  :-)

At our annual Alberta shoot, we shoot (Victorian theme) whoever we were at war with at the time.  Last year it was Indian Mutiny , this year 2nd Afghan war.
Political correctness is something I go out of my way to ignore these days!!
