A back story first. This Long Branch rifle came into my possession somewhat damaged. The barrel was cut down past the sight lugs and a rear sight pin hole missing on the receiver, bolt handle side. Perfect candidate for a target rifle. I made the necessary fixes to the receiver, recrowned the barrel, added a FS-21 Matchmaker front sight, and a PH-5C rear sight with the 1/4" MOA clicks,PH bipod, and that little brass holder for the sight inserts. Stop cringing and sucking in air after I mention that I installed a custom alloy, fully adjustable, set to a 12oz pull, single stage Huber Concept trigger. The Cherry wood forestock was fully bedded from the King screw forward to the end of the stock. The sear contact a reas and contact area on the cocking piece has been mirror polished and heat treated. Utility Grade Racegun...

Looks like a good target set up. Personally I like the two stage trigger; but would be quite happy to give that one a go!

It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice!

It was the only trigger I had available. The only description I can give on the feel would be to run your finger over the softest material you can find,it's smoother than that.

I have heard the term used describing a custom rifle, pistol,or shotgun designed to specifically target/benchrest shoot. Seemed fitting at the time.

Yeah, heavily modified to the extent its now ONLY usable for specific competitions. Its a reference to things like Nascar cars that cant really turn the other way they're so specialized.

The previous owner at some point decided to customize the receiver by hacksawing off one of the ears that the rear sight pin goes through. I had no choice but to remove all that material around it until it looked right, somewhat. I cannot convert it back to original at all. Cannot hunt with it. It is a target rifle specifically now.
