Is there such a thing?  If so, what is it? (Something special, or altered from a regular bayonet?)

A Drill Purpose bayonet may be chrome plated for parades etc. I have a spike bayonet for a No4 rifle that has chrome scabbard and polished blade.
It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice!

Shamu, Thanks for the link.
So it looks like. according to Laidler, there were no "official" DP bayonets for the L59A1.  I could probably gin one up easy enough with a grinder and a little white paint and a stencil, but would it really be worth the effort.....

yes , it is modified , either as mentioned or with safety features for bayonet practice and such
