I found a stock maker who is willing to make new No4 Mark1 military stocks. Curious how many of you would be interested in reproduction wood or not. sales@macongunstocks.com is their sales email address and webpage is macongunstocks.com

He's willing to do them, but needs a good pattern stock to copy. Could run as much as 600.00 . I was looking for Enfield No 4 Mark 1. Just to get a down to a reasonable amount, he have to make 30-40 stocks. I didn't receive enough interest to go any further.

600.00 for the stock? Interesting. Now I'll be looking at the wood on Enfields with a different view.
Love info sharing.

At some point people will have to realize that spending the money on having someone make new fore-ends is a worthwhile investment. The wood won't last forever but people forget that if properly fitted and maintained it will still last another 50 years.

There’s a fellow advertising in the local online Alberta gun buy and sell. He is building complete no 1 mk3 restoration kits from walnut. He includes all wood and metal bits, screws and sling for $425 Cdn. He is in Faro Yukon. I’m not affiliated, just providing a heads up for anyone interested.

It is worthwhile remembering that when it comes to Enfield woodwork; the interior fit of the wood is far more important than the exterior finish. If it doesn't fit properly at the draws etc; it's not going to shoot properly!
It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice!

As I understand it, he will be making #5 stock sets but not yet. He currently is selling #1 stock sets with fittings.

The repop No.4 stocks from Ralph Shaw are CNC machined and need only minor clean up work to drop in the action. Decent walnut too. Some think that the kits are pricey, but you get what you pay for....
