I`m looking at a savage MkII bayo, but not sure if it`s correct.
The release button is clearly stamped with the square S, while the side is clearly marked with the ROF P(Poole) car-touche.
Is this possibly an armorers fix or just a bitza?, asking price $35 on flea-bay.
Lead from the front; eliminate all obstacles...

It isn't that uncommon to see. Parts on those bayonets can break just as any other and be replaced by whatever was at hand.

shiloh. Two different variations to a Savage bayonet, both with the square S on the side of the bayonet. The top photo is mine and the bottom photo is of one that is currently on  eBay  for $34.99...
