That scabbard looks brand new.
Recently I have been restoring a rather shabby bayonet that I had all the metal parts hydroblasted, including the scabbard. I then re blued the metal using a commonly available gun blue. The leather I cleaned using a solvent similar to "Brake clean" It removed years of build up and stripped all of the old oil out of the leather. It ended up very clean, but also dry, so I used an Australian leather boot polish "Dubbin" It made the leather soft & pliable again and brought the colour back to life. |

there are vintage replacement scales out there - mostly see the ausie SLAZ versions but they are very nice , i picked up a set way back and they replaced the cracked/broken ones that came with mine very nicely ,
