Many thanks for this Shamu. It gives the a definitive definition of the “angle of jump”, and it confirms what exactly what I thought it was as described in Reynolds book.

It came out of a discussion on a F/B Enfield page.
There were some absolutely terrifying suggestions, most of which would do nothing but the others were amazingly ignorant & downright lethal.
