Went to the range this morning to test out a new Hunting round using the 180grn Speer Hot Cor RN.

The propellant is the Double Base Norma 201 which has a makeup of 88% Nitrocellulose, 4.5% Nitroglycerin,  2.7% Surface Coating,  3.9% Various Chemicals, and 0.9% H2O.

(FYI: IMR3031 has an identical Burn Rate. With a relative velocity of 129.7 ms compared to 127.0 ms of the 201.)

Range Conditions in Payson Arizona today.
Elevation 5012 ft above sea level, 34°F, Winds NE 4mph, 74% Humidity, Cloud Cover 0%, and 0% Precipitation.

Rifle used: Sporterized No4Mk2 with 22.2" M47C barrel.
Optics: 4-12×40 Tasco
Cartridge: 303 British.
Powder and weight: Norma 201 38.3grns
Primer: CCI #34 with a C.O.L. of 3.0375"
Averaged FPS of 2319.7 was measured using the Caldwell Chronograph placed 8 feet beyond the muzzle of the rifle.
Distance to Target: 303 feet.
Shooting position: Standing with No Sling. No sighters.
The Cold Bore shot was almost Dead Center with the remaining 9 shots all in the Red of the 2.60" Bullseye. One bullet did split the line however. The main thing here is that all ten shots can fit in the palm of your hand. I waited 5 minutes between shots so, just under an hour to get ten rounds down range and I walked the length of the benches as well to keep the adrenaline up to simulate an actual hunt...

Recoil was very mild as well.
If someone was looking for a good all around hunting load, this would be the one...
