Hi folks, I'm new to Enfield rifles. I inherited a Lee Enfield No4 Mk 1/2 from a good friend of mine.  Since then I've been obsessed with these rifles and have done a lot of research. Looking forward to learning more from all the experts on here. I am from Michigan, USA and have a 25-year career in metal fabrication and welding and also a farmer.  Feel free to ask if anybody has any questions about my expertise because I'm going to have a lot of questions for you guys about these fine rifles.  Thanks, Eric

Big Howdy from Texas!  What part of Michigan are you in?  My wife and I take a trip up to the U.P. every 2nd or 3rd year to take in the Fall color and enjoy the magnificent scenery in the Porkies and elsewhere.

 he!!o all...thanks for the add.

I'm here in NSW Australia. I've in Oz over 20 years. Original from Oklahoma USA.
I just bought a Lithgow Lee Enfield SMLE...receiver date 1941...stock date 1942. Barrel date 4/34. MOTTY H(heavy) barrel. The receiver and front end cap have the same serial number...C serial number...bolt and E number stamping. Wood really good shape... only thing missing is the butt stock sling mount. Someone had put a very bad thick  lacquer job on the stick and metal. I've removed the lacquer... paint stripper... reapplied stain and now doing the boiled linseed coating.
I've only fired 3 shots out of it at my son's property. 30 yards to see if it goes bang. 3 holes about 3/4 of and inch. I was using PPU BTSP 150g bullets. Cheapest I could find last week.
I've ordered a sling mount... reloading dies... cotton sling.
Not sure what type/weight bullet to run through it. I have a mold for 312 150g cast bullets I might try to how they go.
Hope to learn more about Enfields. This is my second one... bought one in the 80s in Oklahoma. Cool old guns.
Cheers
