I could not convince myself to strip apart my No4Mk1* LB with a junk two groove barrel. I thought about putting a 2A1 7.62mm barrel on it but instead, chose to put a .22LR liner in the junked 2 groove and permanently afix it. I still need to clean up the grinding marks at the muzzle but, it is what it is now. The scope pictured will be swapped for a 3-9×32 Parker Hale. Being that this is now a single shot only, I intend to use it for target work. Should make for a fun little shooter...

Looks like fun! What did you have planned for a bolthead?I had similar idea for a spare action I have. Still way back on the burner for now.

The bolthead has had the center drilled out to 1/4" and then plugged with a 1/4" piece of steel. I then drilled an offset hole from front to back at .080". From back to front and only drilling 1.100" down i used a .100" drill. The final bit of work was to cut the firing pin off flush with the striker contact area and reform it to fit in the newly created offset firing pin hole in the bolthead. I did have to trim the boltface down to 0.595" to get proper headspacing too...

Nice! Was your liner thick enough to fill the chamber area? Most of the liners I see are 3/8. How did you address the chamber ?

The liner was purchased off of eBay and originally intended to be used in the No1Mk111 Enfield as a conversion kit. The chamber and liner are a one piece design...

I am thinking about having one chambered to fire 6mm/303 however. I cut a 303 cartridge down to the length of a 243W and then resized the cartridge in a 243W sizing die. If it all works out, I believe we will see a neat little wildcat round in the near future...

i saw a fellow on the evil tube platform that made a #4 into a .223 with i think what he said was a ruger magazine, anyway it turned out pretty neat and the magazine made it look kind of like an Ishy rifle.
