    Posted: January 23 2026 at 8:29am

In finishing my No 5 Mk 1 that came out of Ethiopia, I find myself in need of the butt pad frame that goes on the butt stock. I can get repros and such but I just wanted to reach out to you all first just to see if someone may have a spare. Let me know if you do. I just need the frame itself but if you have a complete one w/ the 2 piece screw and pad I wouldn't mind that either.

The repro frames have the sling bracket welded a bit differently than an original. It's obvious when you can compare the 2 side by side. Other than that and the fact the British maker stamps won't be there, the repros work just fine. The repro rubber pad is available on eBay sometimes and other sources online. Sorry about being vague on that, I just can't remember which sites have them for sale. There is also a thin steel plate that goes between the rubber pad and the inner part of the frame. Bear, I'll look in my parts boxes, I think I may have a couple originals I can part with. I know I do have repros with the 2-screw sets and rubber pad.

Apex has original frames but it is spendy for just the frame. The reproduction pads are really easy to find but I have found some NOS pads but again, spendy. The only thing wrong with mine is a busted sling bar and I really want a sling on it.

Canuck has my back!...lol... He sold me an original assembly for a nice price. That's why I come here first. It's nice to work with each other.
