I have had this particular rifle for some time now and am thinking of using it this deer season. My question is in regards to the make and model and the existing sights.
I read that only the original 1600 did not have the calibre size preceding the EAL. This particular gun has EAL 1776 on the action but no 303. Also the back sight only has a Allen screw to raise and lower the sight. The front sight I believe has been modified. Any help with the history of this gun would be appreciated. Thank you |

welcome to the site and please post some photos as it helps us to give accurate answers ,
ill take a guess - if its an EAL its perhaps 762x51 , but im no expert in this rifle i stopped collecting a number of years ago , and most of my references are gone or out of reach at the moment without disturbing the household , ill look when i can , but in the meantime there are many others here that are knowleggable and can provide what you need to know ,

I have my doubts anyone knows for sure how many were actually made. The estimate serial range for the type B....Type B (no calibre mark) - approx. 1600 (estimated serial number 1000-2600) So your is well with in that range being #1776. Post a picture of your rifle if you can.
