I will be here for a long time evil does not die.
Plus I have Grandbabies to teach how to shoot. Thinking about getting a horse or two. Get them Grandbabies to learn how to ride and shoot pigs in the saddle.

As a teenager, I had a Mustang/Morgan mix. His name was Pecos and that horse was absolutely Bomb Proof. His only drawback was when he got tired or irritated, he would either sit on his ass or lay down on his side. This made it very uncomfortable for the rider/me...

Yes, but English style. It confuses the heck out of Western style trained horses! ![]() Back in the day (when I was less wise, but more foolish) I had this thing about doing a cowboy trick. Hand rolling a cigarette while riding a horse (without a machine) , as I'd seen it done in movies. I must have spilled pounds of tobacco & reams of little pieces of paper all over the "Brecon Beacons", oops sorry, "Bannau Brycheiniog"! ![]() |

"rollies"...man, that brings back memories! @ my grandparents place @ the harbour they'd sit @ round table w/Black can of Black Cat tobacco in middle. Rollie papers scattered here & there. Never heard a euchere game so loud afore or since. They'd be playin, yellin (1/2 french, some Cree & English) to:" hurry up-quit stallin etc"..All while grabbin a paper & dippin it in the tobacco, lickin to seal the paper, lite & smoke WITHOUT MISSING A BEAT!!It was a flurry of hands, cards & tobacco. Quite a sight.

I'll never forget opening a bank A/C in Holland! You have to have one to do business there, & my first Dutch client went to his bank to set it up for me. In England smoking "snout" (roll-ups) is a sign of poverty, cheapness, or having "done hard time at Her Majesties pleasure". In Holland apparently tobacco isn't taxed, but "manufactured tobacco products" is heavily taxed, which is why so many dutch smoked pipes, or rolled their own. Sometimes with "pharmaceutical additives" included! ![]() We're in the the Bank manager's office & he calmly produces a packet of 'baccy, some rolling papers, filter tips & a machine & offers them all round! It was most unusual to think you have an ex-felon for a bank manager!

When I was a pre teen living in Virginia we used to grow tobacco to pay our farm taxes.
Use to smoke a piles of tobacco leaves for home use in the second smoke house. Next the leaves where ground with a hand grinder. We packed the ground leaves in mason and produced enough to last a year. Next we used order tobacco paper from Montgomery Ward. My Pawpaw was cheap. I still have the hand grinder and a mason jar full of seed.

now that sounds promising , you can carry on traditions , for home use only of coarse .....
when i was 10 i did snitch a couple packs of my dads cigarettes' - that got me grounded and sick , i use masons to store my coffee beans till i grind them for each pot , i love the old flip lock tops - their nostalgic , i buy my ceegars and im a bit picky but not snobby nor extravagant , coming into that season soon ,

On a similar note..my bestie brought back a small jar of homegrown honey from Cuba last month.
It tastes like cigar!! Apparently, the beehive is close to the guy's baccy. Sure is an eye opener. I know from my honey days if bees get heavy into thistle patches - the honey will derive a "minty" tone. (Gotta learn the bees to go to proper venues.) |

So Redman the moral to this discussion is to soak your twisted sling in a jar of cigar flavored honey, while twisting up a smoke from the hand cut tobacco you keep in a sealer jar at your grand parents place beside the deck of cards. Hang your sling off the saddle and ride off into the sun set. Welcome to the best forum on the webs
